The Southland Arts Festival is held annually in late April and into May and introduces new and dynamic arts to the Southland region.
Venture Southland develops the programme of events for the festival and manages the event which has been showcasing the best of local and New Zealand performing arts since 2009.
Venture Southland’s management of the festival involves scheduling, programming and marketing the festival, managing various productions, liaising with partner organisations for their inclusion in the festival and facilitating the production of 10,000 brochures which are distributed all over Southland and beyond.
The festival caters for all with many opportunities to experience different genres such as music, theatre, dance, literary events, and comedy during the course of the festival. While most events are held in Invercargill, some shows tour to the wider Southland region. The festival comprises ticketed events as well as free or donation-based events.
If you are a professional company seeking presentation opportunities in the festival, please contact the festival director, Angela Newell at Venture Southland.
