Southland Tourism operators and accommodation providers will be speed-dating on Wednesday in an attempt to increase their overall knowledge of tourism products in the region.
Venture Southland is hosting the second annual Southern Showcase on Wednesday 19 September, where Southland tourism operators will present to close to 70 accommodation providers, i-SITE and information staff to give them a better understanding of the products on offer within the region.
Venture Southland tourism and events manager Warrick Low said the event was designed to increase the knowledge of the tourism businesses operating in Southland.
“Increased awareness of the differing product offerings in the region allows operators to sell more activities and experiences to their guests and customers, which encourages these people to stay longer in the region and spend more,” Low said.
The event is being held at Bill Richardson Transport World and will be split into two sessions, media are most welcome.
Low said the event would prepare operators for the upcoming tourist season and was a chance for the sector to come together to form the all-important networking relationships that benefit both operators and the accommodation industry in Southland.
